The COSMOSSTM rating engine allows multiple processingand rating of the same usage record for partner rating and settlement. As aresult, the rating engine can simultaneously process CDRs for subscriberbilling, as well as interconnect billing and settlement. The rating process isidentical in each case - only the charged parties and tariffs used for rating aredifferent.
- Simultaneous subscriber and interconnect pricing: The pricing engine processes the CDRs twice (if necessary): for the first time to be able to bill the customer, and for the second time again, to make the settlements with the interconnect partners. The pricing process is the same in both cases, only the customer debited, and thus the prices/tariffs are different.
- Customer identification: The pricing engine is capable to identify the paying partner on the basis of the different data of the CDR:
o telephonenumber,
o incoming/outgoingroute (trunk/IP),
o username in the case of Internet traffic,
o thelogin code can also be used when processing VoIP.
- Incoming/Outgoing pricing in the case of specific numbers and Interconnect partners: In case of need, the calls can be priced both for the calling and for the called partner. At subscriber level, the pricing of incoming calls is possible in the „B-number pays" case, or when blue/green numbers are called (Green number: is gratis for the calling party, while the called party pays the total fee. Blue number: local fee for the calling party, and the difference between the local fee and the total fee for the called party).
- In all cases, the Interconnect pricing can be done for both parties.
